Building on achieving the Equality Standard Gold Award, NGCV has continued to promote equality and diversity and address barriers to accessing culture, as well as to employment and training.

NGCV has been awarded funding from the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts for The Unusual Suspects, a research project which explores a collaborative approach to using 'Big Data' to develop audiences.

NGCV is part of the North East Artist Development Network, a collective of cultural venues, festivals and producers committed supporting creative talent in the performing arts. Recently secured from Arts Council England will help develop activities.

NGCV has been recognised nationally as good practice in promoting environmental sustainability. NGCV's Green Campaign has successfully promoted energy efficiency, recycling and sustainable travel and members have collectively reduced carbon emissions by 643 tonnes of CO2 in 12 months.

Anthony Baker is chairing NGCV Skills, a new collaborative approach to training, skills and employment.  The first major initiative is with Ingeus UK, delivering the first skills project in the country to be funded through Local Response Fund .

In October 2013, all 10 NGCV members received the highest accolade in the country for Equality and Diversity: The Equality Standard Gold Award, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to champion fair and inclusive access to cultural venues.
