Newcastle Theatre Royal has been voted the most welcoming Theatre in the entire UK.  Over 256 theatres of all sizes from across the UK entered the award, which is voted for entirely by the public.

Tyneside Cinema launches its brand new film programme for people with dementia and their carers, families and companions on Thursday 30 July with a special screening of the classic movie musical The Wizard Of Oz.

Tyneside Cinema is leading the Random Acts Network Centre in the North, which will identify and develop creative talent, focusing on young people aged 16-24, in a new initiative funded by Arts Council in partnership with Channel 4.

Photo: Allan Mushen     Tyneside Cinema has launched a Dementia Friendly Cinema research project to test new approaches to make it easier for those who have dementia, their carers, companions and families to enjoy a cinema experience.  Enhanced screenings will run from July to December and inform future approaches and programming.

A group of NGCV managers has graduated from an intensive training programme designed to further improve their leadership skills, as part of a wider NGCV Skills programme developed in partnership between NGCV and Ingeus Training Ltd, which will have trained 160 staff by June 2015.
