NewcastleGateshead's award winning late night culture crawl in May, The Late Shows, has a new twist this year, with the addition of The Twilight Shows. Venues will be opening their doors a little earlier for a series of special events aimed at 12-17 year olds between 4-7pm on 18th and 19th May.

Maker Faire UK is the greatest show (and tell) on Earth! Taking place on 28–29 April  at Life Science Centre in Newcastle, it’s a two-day family-friendly festival of invention and creativity, bringing together more than 400 hackers, crafters, coders, DIYers and garden shed inventors from across the globe.

Employees at Sage Gateshead are some of the hundreds of staff across NGCV who are benefitting from fully funded training via the Go>Grow programme.  Sage Gateshead staff are set to hit all the right notes thanks to free training intended to hone their leadership and management skills.

It’s happening – we’re putting the fusion into Creative Fuse North East with more and more people and organisations from our diverse cultural sector getting involved.  So far this year there has been a flurry of activities and engagement and there is more to come as these time-limited, but fully funded opportunities continue to roll out, supported by our 5 regional universities.

Family Explorers North East is successfully engaging families across the region and through peer to peer recommendations and reviews, as well as good quality information from venues and partners, they are able to get involved in a wide range of cultural experiences and involve the whole family.

The 80-day Great Exhibition of the North programme was revealed at a packed event at Sage Gateshead this week and runs from 22nd June to 9th September, inviting millions to join in a celebration if the North of England's great art and culture, design and innovation.

NGCV is supporting Sunderland's bid to become UK City of Culture in 2021.  We are encouraging everyone to support the final push today, with the spotlight on Sunderland Before a final decision is made on 7th December.  Good luck Sunderland!  We're all behind you!
